It’s Maple Syrup Time.

Pete Seeger said it best, "You need warm and sunny days but still a cold and freezing nighttime.
For just a few weeks, maple syrup time.
We boil and boil and boil and boil it all day long,
Till ninety seven percent of water evaporates just like this song
And when what is left is syrup don't leave it too long
Watch out for burning! Maple syrup time."

A song and a skill we’ve been taught since we we’re kids. As we grow up and are forced to be the only living creatures on the planet who has to pay bills to survive, things like these become more and more important to hold on to. As of recent, me and my friends have been trying to get back in touch with these fulfilling activities that connect us with our ecosystem and each other. As things descend further into late stage capitalism, its important to hold on to these special aspects of life. Like tapping trees, or forging for fungi. Even picking flowers, growing our own food and taking time to do fun things we used to do as kids. We deserve it. To remind us what makes us happy. Even if we grow and change as we get older. Next time you get yelled at by your boss for being 3 minutes late, or a cop for rolling through a stop sign, remember you do something far more fulfilling like listening to yourself and your inner youth.
